The second event of this semester's Eskişehir Osmangazi University (ESOGÜ) Aviation and Space Technologies Application and Research Center (HUZTAM) Aeronautical Engineering Conference Series brought together prominent figures of the aviation community. The event, held on April 1, 2026, hosted Researcher and Author Dr. Emir Öngüner.
The conference, organized with the contributions of the ESOGÜ Aeronautical Engineering Department and the Hezarfen Havacılık ve Uzay Kulübü, took place at the Prof. Dr. Suat Mirza Konferans Salonu. The main theme of the event was "The Chronology of the Structural Evolution of the Turkish Aviation Industry." In his presentation, Dr. Emir Öngüner shared the historical journey spanning from 1909 to 2026, focusing on the transition "From Establishment Attempts and Import Substitution to the Quest for Technological Sovereignty."
The event, which saw strong participation from academicians and students interested in the field of aviation and space, provided a highly productive environment for knowledge sharing that shed light on the history of Turkish aviation.
