"In the 39th Student Aircraft Design Competition organized by the Vertical Flight Society and sponsored by Bell Helicopter, Demirkanat Team, consisting of students from ESOGU Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, was awarded the best new participant award together with Erciyes, Necmettin Erbakan and Samsun Universities. The team, which was established within Eskişehir Osmangazi University Aeronautical Engineering, includes students from different universities/departments. The "Demirkanat" team, consisting of Miraç Yüksel Çelik (team captain), Semih Turgut, Ceyda Beril Bayrak, Eren Coşkun, Hasan Gökçeoğlu, Kadir Durgut, Nesibe Nur Çam, Uğur Demir and Eyup Mecit Karayel, was advised by Dr. Zafer Öznalbant.
Within the scope of the project, a conceptual design of an eVTOL for the disabled was requested. During the studies, performance calculations were performed for different vehicle concepts. The conceptual design was completed by realizing the cabin-cockpit layout and structural design, focusing on a four-rotor eVTOL that provides the most suitable performance values for the mission profile. The designed vehicle stands out with its ability to allow disabled people to land and disembark comfortably with wheelchairs."
