Dear Students,
As we embark on a new academic term, I wish you all a fruitful and successful 2025–2026 Academic Year. This year also marks a proud milestone for our department: we have graduated our very first student. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all our students, faculty members, and administrative staff who contributed to this achievement.
To our new students, welcome. You are not only joining a rigorous engineering curriculum, but also embracing the “ESOGÜ spirit”: an academic experience enriched with projects, papers, conferences, competitions, design work, and field studies that go far beyond traditional coursework. Here, a diploma is not merely a piece of paper—it evolves into a comprehensive career portfolio through the projects, publications, and teamwork you undertake. At graduation, we expect to see tangible accomplishments on your CVs, and we are fully committed to supporting you in achieving this.
Unlike many other Aerospace Engineering departments in our country, our program strongly encourages a wide range of student-led activities. As a concrete reflection of this approach, our departmental ranking continues to rise each year, driven by the dedication of our students and faculty. According to the ÖSYM 2025 results, our department ranks 2nd nationwide in the top score segment, with an entry ranking of 4160. I congratulate you all on this success, while reminding you that our ultimate goal is to aim even higher.
I would also like to emphasize the importance of participating in TÜBİTAK projects (such as 2209). These projects are not just an “extra” on your record; they represent the very essence of engineering—the cycle of creating, testing, and learning—and the fact that they are officially endorsed by TÜBİTAK makes them highly valuable. I strongly encourage you to take part in these opportunities, with the guidance of your advisors and faculty members.
The founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, illuminated our path when he stated: “Science is the truest guide in life.” In another of his sayings, he defined our vision with the words: “The future is in the skies.” Guided by science and inspired by this vision, we work with our eyes set on the skies. My expectation from you is to be ethical, disciplined, productive, and collaborative throughout your journey.
I wish you all a healthy, productive, and successful year.
With my warm regards and respect,
